Benniu Town
Benniu is a small rural town and community about 30 kilometers to the west of the city of Changzhou in Jiangsu Province. It has an unofficial population of 80, 000 but this is unconfirmed. This is a small place even on the scale of population in China. This makes it a unique experience for foreigners to live and work there. (Continued in the pdf)

Features of Benniu
There are many restaurants, shops and factories on the main street. The restaurants range in size, style and expense. The food is fresh and restaurants generally clean and the price cheap. (Continued in the pdf)

The Bus Service
The bus services are a special feature of Benniu. These run everyday from before 7am to around 6pm or a little later. These are often very crowded and busy and the traffic can be unnerving but worth the trip. (Continued in the pdf)

Supermarkets
There are several supermarkets in Benniu, one of which located in the base of the school gymnasium. The women in this supermarket are very kind and speak a small amount of English. (Continued in the pdf)

Cell phones and public phones
In Benniu there are a number of cell phone shops, some of which sell the top up cards for China mobile SIM cards. (Continued in the pdf)

Getting Medicine and seeing a Doctor
Benniu also has a community hospital located across the bridge near the primary school. The service there is very simple but satisfactory for minor ailments, and the novelty of a westerner seeing a local doctor will allow something of a fuss to be made. (Continued in the pdf)

Hairdressers
There are a large number of hair stylists relative to the size of Benniu along the main street. These are open late and are usually offer very good service. (Continued in the pdf)

Parks and Recreation facilities
There is a new public park in the main street that is not yet finished. This will be a welcome addition to the town and a retreat to relax in.

Recreational facilities are scarce or greatly different from western towns, especially for night time. That said Benniu has many net bars, KTV venues and there is a group of locals that gather to exercise in the courtyard behind a building close to the school. (Continued in the pdf)
